Rayn Fall Dance Programs
Our programs are designed to accommodate, nurture, and develop the techniques of students of all ages and levels of ability. Rayn Fall Dance Studio provides a supportive and structured environment that encourages individuality, creative expression and an appreciation for the art of dance. We offer 2 diverse programs , Steps Program (ages 3-8) and Preparatory Technique Program (ages 8 and up).
OBJECTIVES
- Learn and be exposed to a variety of styles from accomplished dance professionals
- Build a solid technical foundation in various genres of dance.
- Offer students the opportunity to receive preparatory classes in
a pre-professional environment

STEPS PROGRAM (SP) Ages 3-8
The Steps program incorporates ballet, creative movement, tap and hip hop .These classes are foun- dational for our Preparatory Technique Program which begins at age 7 or 8. Dancers learn dance room etiquette and develop exemplary behavior within a few short weeks so that class becomes about dance, freedom and creativity.
SP CLASSES
Creative Movement (Ballet & Tap) Ages 3-5
This introductory dance class is specifically structured to bring the joy of music and movement to young children. Students enjoy the challenge of developing their mind and muscle memory through exposure to various dance genres in ballet, African, hip-hop, and other dance movements.
Pre-Dance (Ballet & Tap) Ages 5-7
This class is designed for those students who have mastered the basic concepts of Creative Movements. Creates an introductory environment for students to learn the disciplined art forms of Ballet & Tapdance.
Hip Hop Level I Ages 6-8
Students are introduced to polyrhythmic movements and beat patterns
Tap IA Ages 7 -9
Students can brush, flap (fa-lap), shuffle or ball change to learn the basic principles of rhythm and timing taught in every level of tap.
PREPARATORY TECHNIQUE PROGRAM (PTP) Ages 8 and Up
The Preparatory Technique Program is designed to develop well-rounded young dancers by providing them with a rich artistic experience that offers a diverse graded curriculum. Levels may vary and are based on experience. Level placement is based on a dancers age, ability, and personal work ethic. All level placements are determined by our staff and/or directors.
Ballet ( IA, IB, IIA, IIB, III)-Students progress through a graduated system of classical ballet training with an emphasis on correct posture, placement, and structure of training. Focuses on advancing the technique in a disciplined way. Levels may vary and are based on experience.
Modern ( I & II)-Students will learn basic modern concepts with intro to various techniques and styles. Floor exercises will be learned to develop strength and flexibility; combinations in the center and across the floor to stress duration and expressiveness.
Jazz ( I & II)- Classes explore body isolations of the head, shoulders, ribcage, feet and arms and encourage individual expression and the development of personal style. Jazz can be powerful and percussive or expressive and lyrical.
Tap Elective ( I, II, III)-Tap is distinguished by percussive footwork that marks out precise rhythmic patterns such as, brush, flap (fa-lap), shuffle or ball change to learn the basic principles of timing taught in every level of tap.
Hip Hop Elective ( II, III)
Classes include stretches, movement across the floor and choreography. Students are encouraged to get creative in this class. Focuses on Movement and Creativity. Learn about polyrhythmic movements and beat patterns.

Please read Pre-Enrollment Info Prior to registering
Enrollment: To ensure a place in enrollment please make sure you adhere to registration guidelines. You must submit a enrollment form completely filled out, an installment agreement ( paypal if applicable) .Admissions are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Classes are limited in size and students are grouped according to age and ability level. Please download pre-enrollment documents below:
Registration:
Registration Fee: Returning RFDS Students $20 individual/$30 family.
New RFDS Students $25 new individual student/$35 for family (2 or more students). Registration fees and first month tuition must be received at time of enrollment in order to ensure slot in the program.
Late Registration:
Late registrants will be required to pay the recital fee up- front as well as any costume fees for the upcoming recital.

Tuition:
Tuition covers the cost of class instruction but DOES NOT include costume fees or any other administrative fees.
Late Fee Policy A $15.00 late fee will automatically be added to your account after the scheduled payment date of each month . This fee must be paid along with tuition by the following Saturday .
Returned Checks A $30.00 processing fee will be added to your account for all returned checks. If this fee is not paid within 10 days of notification it will be automatically withdrawn from your checking account.
PAYMENT OPTIONS: Accepted forms of payment include cash, check, Visa and Mastercard. We also offer an Automatic Payment Plan. To enroll, please request a Credit Card Authorization form to automatically have tuition installments deducted from your Visa or Mastercard.
You may also submit post-dated checks for your installment payments.

Plan #2 – Monthly ( Must give payment option, post dated check or credit card)
Payment of tuition shall be made in equal monthly installments, . For those selecting this plan #2, post-dated checks or credit card must be submitted
Note: Payment may be marked for any day designated by the Payee prior to the 10th of each month.
Plan #3 – Year in Full payment in full of tuition.
You recieve a 5% discount off , provided that payment in full of said amount is made at time of submission of registration.

DressCode
All students should come to class dressed and ready to dance. Uniformity is strongly enforced and de- notes discipline. Dance is a disciplined art form and must be respected as such with proper attire. Hair should be up and away from face and absolutely no jewelry is allowed. Dress code is necessary for all dancers in the Youth Program; all dance attire may be ordered at RFDS.

Attendance Policy
Rayn Fall Dance Studio strictly enforces our attendance policy. To achieve the maximum results of training and proper progression through the syllabus, students are required to attend all classes and rehearsals to which they are assigned.
Attendance Maintenance Procedure
•Parents must sign their child in at the front desk upon entering the building (the sign-in sheet is used as a backup to monitor attendance)
•Class Attendance is taken 5 minutes after each class has begun. Tardiness is equivalent to arriving more than 5 minutes late for class. (Note: It is better to observe than to be absent). Parents please show respect to the instructors and fellow students by arriving on time for classes.
Absences-To minimize absences, parents are urged to take into consideration classes and rehearsals when scheduling their children for appointments and when planning family vacations.No unexcused absences are allowed (unexcused absences = no notification to Rayn Fall Dance Studio prior to missed class(es).
Excused/Emergency Absences-Please notify RFDS in the event that your child will be absent in advance.. Reasons may include a student becoming ill, a previously planned family trip or other situations.
Fundraising Initiative
Rayn Fall Dance Studio understands the importance and the reality of fundraising. Fundraising helps us keep our commitment to provide the highest level of dance instruction at an affordable cost while being able to operate efficiently and effectively throughout the session this year.
Fundraising Options
RFDS hosts 4 major fundraisers each session. We will have 2 during the fall and 2 during the spring. Two of the fundraisers require 100% participation from the parent/student.

MUSE 360 © is a nonprofit 501 © 3 corporation that was started in 2005 to provide quality, affordable, arts programming in Baltimore City by artist, educator, and wrier Sharayna Christmas-Rose. In its inaugural year, the organization created 3 core programs, Rayn Fall Dance Studio, Dancing Many Drums: An Arts Education Program, and Sacred Circle: Adult Wellness Program. These sub-organizations offer programming, performances and/or workshops in the area of dance, theatre, visual arts, and music to over 1000 patrons per year.
MUSE 360 attracted critical acclaim, with feature articles in The Baltimore Sun and Baltimores Best, City Paper, AFRAM press conference and radio appearances on WEAA. Over the past 5 years, MUSE 360 has been able to offer a variety of opportunities that address important issues and at the same time represent the interests of the community.

SATURDAYS -ADULT HIP HOP 11:00am-12:00noon Starts January 22nd

Immerse yourself in the culture of hip-hop as you learn basic movement to get in shape. Vivacious and energetic, classes are available for novices through experienced and provide a great mix of cardio and stretching.
MONDAYS- Belly Dance 7:00-8:30pm Starts January 24th
( Introductory rate of $8 per class)
Learn Intricate Hip movements, body isolation and flexibility, arm and hand movements, veil and zills.
THURSDAYS- Afro-Modern 7:30-9:00pm
Learn Polyrythmic movements that are influenced by both Modern and African Dances.

Donations Welcome! Donate leotards, shoes and other dancewear your child may have grown out of. We provide many students with barely used or new shoes to help cut cost for parents. If you are in need of assistance with ballet or tap shoes please see RFDS administration.
